Woodworkers load a ton of money to install new cabinets. There need be. With a little time and patience, anyone can learn to hang doors cabinet. Why waste money on having a carpenter come out to your house, when with just a few simple tools you can do the work yourself.
There are only a few tools to hang cabinet doors:
Screwdrivers, flat and Phillips
Tape measure
Carpenter's square
Cordless Drill with various pieces of size
The first step is to connect the hinges to the new cabinet door. Make sure they are evenly spaced each other so that the door will swing freely.
It is likely that you are hanging over a cabinet door. A good tip to make sure you have a straight line through the entire row of cabinets is to keep the door in place and lightly mark a straight line on the top of the door meets the cabinet.
Now just use the rule of a carpenter's square to extend the line through the implementation cabinet. There you have a simple baseline to ensure that all doors again sit at the same height.
Once again the place the door on the front of the cabinet. This time, use your pencil and mark hinge locations in the cabinet front.
Now open the cabinet door and align the hinges with the pencil mark. It's a good idea to have an assistant for this work as an attempt to support the door while anchoring the hinges can get a little difficult. You do not want the door to exit the level.
With his assistant of holding the door instead of using the cordless drill and a small drill to hit a couple of pilot holes. Drilling pilot holes is important to avoid fragmentation or cracks in the cabinet!
Now Take the screwdriver and insert a couple screws through each hinge.
Once the door is safe is to check the oscillation. Hopefully everything works fine and closes easily. If not just undo and change the position of the hinges and try again.
The next step is to install the doorknob and magnetic closure.
Place a magnetic locks on the upper side of the door opposite swing and screw into place.
Then place another magnet inside the closet, but the door did not make contact with him. Most magnetic closures will have a keyway that let you adjust the capture of return. Finding the right location and the door swing closed and flush with the cabinet. If you do not catch or open only appears again to reset the magnetic closure.
The last thing you do is plug in door hardware. You want the hardware in the same place on all cabinet doors. Use a carpenter's square to measure out the correct location and recording measurements. Sure it's accurate before to screw into the hardware. I do not want to do it again.
That's all there is to learn to hang cabinet doors. Just repeat the process for each door. And you've saved money and made great improvements in the home all alone.
